Miskitos, Here I Come!!

Oh my goodness this was a semana full of many many surprises and exciting things!! First thing is first! Dayana and Freddy got married and Dayana was baptized on Saturday and confirmed on Sunday!! It was soooooo awesome. OK I have been in the area here, DucualĂ, for about 8 months and in all of my time here I have seen and experienced much with the members here. This was the most impressed I have been with them yet!! We were asking for help for this wedding and baptism, and without a second thought, we had some people offering help to bring the drinks, two sisters offering to make a cake, some people offering to bring and set up some small decorations, and when it all came down to it, it was all so awesome!! The room looked awesome, it was an awesome wedding and service, and then we ate lots of food after! All in all a good win!

The wedding itself was super awesome. Freddy is someone that is really super active in all that he does. So honestly, with the nerves and stuff he was all over the place. But the awesome part was that when the lawyer was doing all of the ceremony stuff, he asked Freddy to share how he felt. And after a few seconds of silence he began to talk saying how he was this and that, and then he started crying and told her that he would always love her. It was so precious! And Dayana was so happy when she heard that. Then he topped it off when his phone went off like 2 minutes later and his ring tone is some bob marley type song..... hahahaha Oh Freddy.... But Dayana told us after, that she has never really seen him cry hardly at all before! So that made it really special for her! Super awesome!!

With the family! Those that could make it!

Then we went over on Sunday and we taught them about family history work, and gave her a My Family pamphlet! And she loves it! After visiting in the week she had already filled out the parts for her parents, so then we put the goal to do one of her Grandparents. She is really anxious to work on it, because her father already died, and she wants the work for him to be done asap! So that is soooo awesome!

So theeeeeen, we are leaving the area on Sunday night, and the car feels really weird, so we get out to check, aaaaaand we had a nice little gift!! A flat tire. Of course it was flat just after we had loaned the car to Sister Collado for like 3 days. It was all ok because this police man came up to us who happened to be in the area and said that it was dangerous here, and then proceeded by changing the tire for us! It was super nice! So we didn't even really have to do anything for it :D Blessings. I respect the police here a bit more now! hahaha

The flat tire experience...

On Monday morning I headed to breakfast with Elder Campbell and Jacobsen and his comps. We went to this awesome place called GHOPs which is like IHOPs. So it was an awesome breakfast, and we celebrated the one year together before I was off!

Breakfast and one year celebration with Jacobsen and Campbell and the boys at GHOPs

This week, the Area President, Elder Duncan came to our mission to do a mission tour! And it would be awesome and not stressful at all if I wasn't still a secretary and had to plan like a ton of stuff. But I am, so yeah... But it was still awesome because we got to be there all of the days and talk to him a bit more personally than the rest of the missionaries. So that was sweet. We learned a lot, and it was super spiritual. Overall, a very cool experience!

OK now for the big news! I found out for sure where I am going on Monday!!!!!! And I am super stoked!!! President was giving me hints for the last two weeks, and it really came down to just one option, and he finally told me today!!!!! I AM GOING TO PUERTO CABEZAS!!!! I am soooooo excited. It is going to be awesome! And one of the best parts is that I am going to be a missionary Miskito! Which means that I am going to be tri-lingual when I come home! I will speak English and Spanish and Miskito, which is the native language in Puerto!!!! So I am so stinking excited. It probably means that I will finish my mission there because when people go there they normally go for 9 months to 1 year. So I will probably die there (finish my mission there). I am so excited. So my companion will be elder Compton!
Me with my ticket for the plane to Puerto Cabezas!

Oh and that means that I will start writing on Mondays again!!!! Sooooo back to the Sunday night emailing train!!!!!!!!!!!! I would love it if you didn't forget that ;)

So I actually took a look this week and I found out that I have a bit of work to do on family history. And that made me a little anxious to work on it. So I challenge you all to work on your family history!! It is important! And I ask a special request to Grandpa to start working on that because he is the only part of my little fan chart that is not filled out right now ;) hahah you too dad! Your grandparents on your dads side! They need some recognition ;) haha

OK, LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!

To Try is Weak, To Do your Best is Not Strong

This was quite the week that I had, full of awesome surprises and all that good stuff! First things first, it was so awesome to call you guys this week and see how you all are doing. At the rate Blake is growing, I am pretty sure he will be bigger and taller than me when I am done and home! That is pretty crazy! But it was awesome to be able to call home for mothers day. I love you mom so much and I am sooo grateful for all you ever did for me! I am pretty sure I did a ton of stuff for you, except one thing...make your life easier ;) haha just kidding. Seriously, it was so great to talk with you and the family.

On Saturday, we had a very successful baptismal service for Sarai, Helen´s daughter! She is such a happy little girl and her smile is so contagious! For the longest time she would tell us that she could not get baptized, or that she wanted to but at the same time that she was catholic so she couldn't. But finally she came around and accepted that she liked the true church better ;) haha! It was super awesome to see how happy Helen was when she accepted to be baptized last week. Helen was so surprised because she had also been talking with Sarai about getting baptized, but she never would commit. So it was such a happy moment for Helen to be able to see her daughter follow in her footsteps.

At Sarai´s baptism :D

Just like always on Mondays, we are here in the office allllllllll day, from 8 in the morning until 9 or 9:30 at night!! And we used to have a tradition of getting pizza, but we have changed the tradition because of new revelation. People in the area have been telling us about these burgers that are huuuuuuuuuuge and pretty cheap, so we finally found the number for the place and found out that they do delivery! So that was awesome!! And they were literally huge! These pics will speak better for me!
The mighty Burger from Mozza's!!!

It is just as big as my face :)

On Tuesday, we did an activity between 4 zones in the mission where President organized divisions between all of the missionaries in the 4 zones! And in the process, the leadership of the mission was also changed for the 24 hour period. Instead of just changing minor things, he said "we are also going to choose someone to be the Mission President for the day...Elder Moser!" soooo I was mission president for a day ;) hahah it was pretty cool I guess. I didn't do much because I still had to make sure that the Financier (like this blair?) responsibilities were being fulfilled. So we did not take part in the divisions. For that I was made President. So yeah, I directed the meeting and told everyone their "changes" for the day. All was well as Presidente Moser haha!

As you may or may not know, I completed one year on my mission YESTERDAY :) hahah so yeah that was quite special! And what did I get?!!?!?! ... a ton of blessings! So realistically a ton! Dayana is going to get baptized this Saturday, but also married. Due to the busy week that we have had, I have not been paying much attention to the preparation process as I should have been.... So yesterday in talking about it, I remembered that there are some papers that have to be given to the lawyer before it can happen...... So, I called Dayana to see if they had the papers ready and she said they already had them. BLESSING! Then we talked with some members and they all of a sudden really wanted to help with all of the setup and stuff! BLESSING!! And then we found a really cheap lawyer on the same night in talking to one of the members BLESSING :) Everything is going to be awesome!!

My "one year" mark and the Shirt Burning!

Something I really thought about this week, is from a story I heard. Trying is weak, and doing the best we can is not strong. This story is about a solider that is commanded to deliver a message. He says to his commander that he will try and his commander says that he doesn't want him to try, but that he wants him to do it. So the solider, a little embarrassed says, I will do the best that I can!!! The Commander says, I don't want you to do the best that you can, I want you to do it. So very ashamed, but sure this time, the solider says, I will do it or I will die trying!! The commander, very firm says, I don't want you to try, I don't want you to do the best you can, I don't want you to die; this is very important, and not that difficult. I want you to DO IT!! Our Heavenly Father wants the same from us! He doesn't want us to try or do the best we can. We can do better, because we are promised that Jesus walks every step with us. Therefore we really are capable of doing better than we can! Just trying gives room to accept failure, and that is exactly what Satan wants! So stop trying and start doing! :)

I love you guys so much!

Families can be together forever, through Heavenly Father´s Plan!

Sounds like you guys had quite a week!! Holy cow!! We had quite the week too!

So this week, we had quite the scare on Monday. Sister Collado got in a car accident, a head on collision with all of the kids in the car, going to the mission home from the office. Sooooo we get this call from President who was in the office, but just got up and left. And he informed us that they got in an accident and that we had to come in our car to take someone to the hospital. Seeing as how I don't answer the phone anymore, because I am not the financier technically, all I heard was that there was an accident and we had to take someone to the hospital. But as I learn the details, and we actually got there, miraculously, the only one really hurt was the two cars involved. The people involved only came away very frightened! All is well. We just had to take the man that was in the other car to the hospital to get a checkup because he had bumped his head. But in the end all was well. Nobody was hurt.

This last Sunday, we had a very cool lesson with Dayana! We were there kind of just talking with them for a bit, and then they started to ask about how she could do the work for her dad who has already died. So we got to teach a nice little lesson about temple work! This is why I love temples so much, and why they are so important for us!!! We love our families, and they need the opportunity to receive the saving ordinances. SO we taught her about the vicarious baptisms, and how she will be able to do that for her father after she is a member. We also taught about the endowment, how she will be able to do that after one year, and then she can get sealed. And it was super awesome to see that they both have the desire (her and Freddy) to be sealed as soon as they can!! It was also cool because the entire family of Freddy, who were all there (the Garcias) have not been to the temple. The parents are planning to go to be sealed in Dicember, so that will be the opportunity for Dayana to do the baptism for her dad. Well she won't do it, but Freddy probably will. They were all just super excited about it and began to fight over who was gonna get to do it for grandpa and so on haha. I love the Gospel!!

Also Sarai is going to get baptized tomorrow!!! She is pretty excited about it too!! I don't know what caused a change of heart in that smart little 8 year old girl, but she decided that she wants to, and that she wants me to baptize her! So that will be super awesome!! I am very excited for her! She is super shy to everyone, but I feel super awesome because I have gained her confidence enough that she always talks to me! haha

Well a lot that has happened this week is really centered around the family! I really love the blessing of having families, and how much I have felt love and support in my family both here in the mission and before. It is such a huge blessing that our Heavenly Father has given us to have families, in whatever form they are. And when we are living the Gospel and its principles, it is even greater of a blessing. We know that we can be with our families forever!! This gospel is true, and it blesses my life so much!

Sorry for the lack of pictures this week. But I am happy to inform you that almost every store right now is selling Honey Bunches of Oats 2X1 right now. SO I made sure to stock up :)

On my way!

Well this week was kind of an interesting one. And I really feel like there were some cool things worth mentioning.

First and foremost, as of Monday, I am officially not financier! Until the week of the 20th... then I am financier again for like 4 days while the Area President, Elder Duncan, is here. And then I get changed!

Second, president has been giving me much insight into my changes. It seems as though I will be going to the coldest and rainiest area in the mission!!! Better pack my sweater!! But who knows, he says many things that all just confuse me in the end!

We had interviews this Wednesday with president, and it went really well. He basically dedicated it to thanking me for all of the work that I had done. And making me trunky about my next area. He talked a lot about me in my next area, what I would have to do. I realize that it is coming quick.... but it is still like 4 weeks away.... hahah Even in the prayer he asked that I would have help in my new area...I think he is ready for me to leave already! haha

But the coolest thing this week happened. And I want Sawyer Champagne to read this;
This week we (Elder Campbell and I) had a sort of normal but special assignment. Two missionaries came from the district Puerto Cabezas, and were set apart as missionaries by Pte Collado. So that was awesome and all. But we were in charge of keeping the Elders for the night and then taking them to the airport the next morning. His name is Oscar Backer (pronounced Baker). Now I asked him just out of curiosity how long ago he was baptized, and he said 4 years. Then I asked who were the missionaries that baptized him, and he said Elder Champagne and Elder Stockey. haha! Sawyer baptized this guy 4 years ago, and here I am taking him to the airport to leave on his mission!!! So awesome! He showed me a pic that he has of Sawyer, I will attach it.

Elder Backer and the picture of Sawyer!

Other than that, this week has been really....well I am just waiting I guess.

Oh! We had the first huge rain storm of the season!! It was humongous! And it sort of flooded the house because one of the drains was not working. So I had to go in with a stick and try to unclog it... It worked, and then I was really dirty! So yeah, all was well :) hahah

Anyway, this week we have seen a few miracles. But more than anything, I just really know that the spirit has all power in the missionary work. We are simply just messengers to bring the spirit to the people. That is all. Look for the spirit in your lives. It is the best guide of anything we have here on the earth. Listen to the spirit.

Love Elder Moser

Pics this week...
Elder Hirschi ripped his pants during the interviews. So sister barker offered to sew them up right on the spot!! haha He wore this meanwhile. And President was really concerned when he first saw him.

The house had flooded! And that little drain is the one that I had to unclog! The water had built up about 8 or 10 inches. And it was super dirty...yeah, I don't wanna do that again!
