Hola familia!
Esta semana ha sido muy buena, y aprendí bastante!! Y mi nuevo compañero y yo nos divertimos muchisimo!!
Ok so I have really enjoyed this week!! I think that I have worked harder this week than any week yet! Finishing up the weekend last week, we decided that since we are working in a trio, the best way to work most efficiently would be to find a priesthood holder that could dedicate the majority of the day to working with us, so that we could form two companionships and get double the amount of work done. So I worked with Elder Velazquez, and Elder Maradiaga offered to work with Angel Torres. From that moment, we put a goal that we would each find a new family so that at the end of the day we would have two new families to teach. And our reward would be that we were going to have a pizza party with Angel at 8pm in a pizza restaurant that he wanted me to try. So Elder Velazquez and I went to work, talking with the members and contacting a ton, and found a few people to teach, but none were families. We were working really hard, and it came to be 7:45pm and we only had 15 more minutes to go before we told Elder Maradiaga and Angel that we were going to meet for pizza. So I looked at Elder Velzquez and said that we were going to find a family before we went to pizza. We walked for about two minutes, and at the end of a little dead end road we contacted this couple that was outside! We were able teach them for a bit, and arrived only like 15 minutes late to the pizza party! Prayer answered!!
Then while we were eating pizza, which was super good by the way, we talked about the day, and that part was just slightly disappointing. We were super excited telling them that we were successful in finding a new family, and then they proceeded to tell us about their day. They went to a birthday party of one of the members in the branch and "contacted" the people that were there. The majority were members...I was a little bothered, but I didn't let it get to me too much because I had this giant meaty pizza in front of me, and because I was able to work really hard that day and I felt really good about what we were able to do!!
Mariela came to church on Sunday, and she is totally ready to get baptized this Saturday! Or tomorrow I guess! Haha. Now we just need to find some baptismal clothes for her. But she was super chosen. She is always so spiritual and she wants so badly to be baptized. We never really invited her to be baptized, she just told us that she wanted to do it, so that was pretty awesome! And here she is taking that step toward eternal life! The same step that Jesus himself had to take to be worthy of eternal life. It is so huge the need for each and every person to be baptized with the proper authority, and we have that authority!! We NEED to help these people! We don't have a choice!
So really other than that things have been going great. As I mentioned before, with Elder Velazquez came a new desire to work out!! So on Monday morning, we woke up at 5:30 so that we could do a killer workout. And although it really wasn't much, it killed me! The worst part was the 60 squats that we did... don't laugh at me, but it left me in very little walking condition. But the worst part was on Tuesday when the application told us we had to do 70!!!! Tuesday was literally the best pain I have ever felt in my life! Although I "couldn't walk", I had to so that we could still preach that night. And I pushed through it. But here is the good news, We got up to 100 today, and I don't even feel it as much as I did on day one!!! Improvement!! haha And we are doing other exercises too, but the squats are the noteworthy ones for this week haha.
So overall it was a really great week, and I am super excited to keep working hard!! We are finding a ton more each week to teach, and even though it is difficult to have the time sometimes, we somehow make it work!
I know that these 8 months that I have been out on the mission have truly changed me already and are helping me become a much better person. I know that this Gospel is true, and I love to preach it. Sometimes the most discouraging part of the mission is that I don't have much time right now while I am in the office to do it. But when I do have the time, I take full advantage of it, because I know how much of a blessing it has been in my life. I know that my Savior has helped me through difficult times, and frustrating things, and I love Him so much for that.
I Love You a Bunch!!
Elder Moser
